Chateau Giscours Margaux 1998
Château Giscours is a 3ème Grand Cru Classé estate located in Margaux that has made significant progress in quality and consistency under the leadership of Alexander van Beek, It is a wonderfully refined and elegant blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, which offers charming notes of cassis, mulberry, cedar, tobacco, wood smoke and earth.
Probably the best Giscours made since 1975, this black/purple colored 2000 offers great notes of camphor, creosote, blackberry and cassis jam mixed with notes of smoke and earth. Spicy, with low acidity, a big, rich, meaty, full-bodied flavour, excellent texture and a long, pure finish: it is, once again, one of the best Giscours produced in the last 25 years
