Red Umbrie
Umbria Red Wines
Umbria is one of the lesser known wine regions of Italy. Umbria has beautiful green landscapes because there is enough water. the basis for viticulture was laid by the Etruscans and the Romans. There are 2 DOCG areas and 13 DOC areas under the DOCG are the Montefalco Sagrantino and the Torgiano Rosso Riserva. The Sagrantino was already planted in the Middle Ages by Monks who were passing through from the Middle East. here the Sagrantino referred to the sacred wine. The sagrantino has to mature for a long time because of the high tannin content, but modern vinification techniques mean that it can now also be drunk earlier. want to know more about wine read our Blog
