Chateau La Rose Figeac
Tasting note:
Château La Rose Figeac 2019 a fruity and intense bouquet with notes of red fruit. On the palate, the vintage is structured by soft tannins, all accompanied by great freshness. Perfectly balanced, this very beautiful Pomerol can be appreciated even in its youth.
Chateau La Rose Figeac
The history of Château La Rose Figeac dates back to 1961 when Nathalie Despagne's maternal grandfather, already owner of Château La Tour Figeac, bought the property from his neighbor. In the following years it will regroup other plots and rename the property of Château La Rose Figeac. In 2013, Nathalie Despagne inherited the estate. She then undertakes many renovations: restructuring of the vineyard, creation of an operating building with a modern barrel room and a barrel cellar.
The terroir of Château La Rose Figeac, consisting of pebble sand, is located in the southeast of the appellation. The vineyard of Château La Rose Figeac covers 4.56 hectares and consists of nine plots. The grape varieties are typical of the prestigious Pomerol appellation: 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc make up the majority of the vines planted, producing pure, deep, fresh and dense wines. The vineyard is managed in organic farming by this woman of many talents, passionate and exciting. The property is also certified as "ECOCERT". For example, the grape harvests are manual, with sorting in the vineyard and in the cellar. The vinification is traditional and fragmented in thermo-regulated stainless steel barrels. The maturation takes place in French oak barrels (50% new and 50% of a Darnajou, Rémond, Cadus wine).
