Gerard Bertrand Heresie Blanc
Tasting note:
The color is golden yellow, brilliant and golden color. The nose is very expressive and sublimely deep. Aromas of dried apricot and roasted almond, very floral scent of hawthorn and broom. Full and creamy in the mouth, round, very velvety and brioche-like. and brioche. Tight, fresh aftertaste.
The harvest date is only determined per variety when the grapes are optimally ripe. and after tasting the berries daily. The hand-picked grapes are pressed pneumatically and separated once they arrive at the winery. After a slight static settling of the must, the juice undergoes alcoholic fermentation in barrels. The temperature is controlled to maintain the freshness and integrity of the aromas. Maturation in barrels lasts between 7 and 8 months until spring, with regular batonnage Regular stirring of the lees for two months.
Gerard Betrand
Gerard Bertrand was a rugby player and entered the family winery in the Midi after completing his career. The south of France, the Midi, is the 'New World' of Europe for Gerard Bertrand
Here he finds all the natural conditions for great wines: grape varieties, terroir and climate. What he brings with him is his talent and his endless passion for wine.
Winemaker is not a profession for Bertrand, chosen on a whim. Because even its vines are always planted for the next generation. Just as his father, Georges Bertrand, had done before him. Sustainable viticulture and the maintenance of ecological balance are the most important challenges of our time for Gerard Bertrand .
The father's "Domaine de Villemajou" has become four wineries: In addition to the family heritage in the Corbières, these are also "Cigalus" Corbieres, "Laville-Betrou" in Minervois-La-Liviniere and the "Château de l 'Hospitalet" in Narbonne, surrounded state of Clape. More than a hundred different wines are now marketed under the name Gerard Bertrand , but each wine is a personal promise to the customers: guaranteed quality wholeheartedly.
