Boutinot International

Boutinot Ltd. was founded in 1980 by Paul Boutinot . In the 1970s, Paul became frustrated with the level of quality of wines available in Britain to sell in his parents' restaurant, so he took matters into his own hands. Once he started importing for them, other restauranteurs wanted his help too, and Boutinot Ltd. was born.

A few years later (1997 to be precise), faced with a rather exorbitant bill for an exhibition stand, we discovered that we could rent a helicopter for half the price. After meeting our customers at one of the friendly producer stands, we flew them to Bordeaux where we shared our wines and good conversation. Coincidentally, one or two of them were international customers, and they seemed interested in what we had to offer. It opened our eyes to an undiscovered market: Boutinot International!

Since then we have switched from fax communication and navigation to paper maps. We still get terribly lost sometimes, but we are visiting our clients more regularly and continuing to travel far and wide as a team.

The team has grown to include colleagues in six countries. Our wines are sold to over 60 customers on 6 continents (Antarctica is proving hard to crack!) and continually win awards from all over the world. Our focus is on the customer at all times, ensuring that their experience with us is always pleasant and efficient and we ensure that our wines continue to perform for them and their own customers.

Making wine

We have our own vineyards. We think it is important. It means we practice what we preach.

We also work together with growers; those we have known for decades and those we just met. They share our philosophy and approach to winemaking and strive to keep our selection of wines as relevant, interesting and commercial as possible for our customers, whilst maintaining the absolute highest level of quality and value that we have become. famous for.

Every bottle we sell we like to take home and drink ourselves, whatever we do. It helps to have strong arms at Boutinot .
