PRODUCTION ZONE
The rosso comes from the region of Calupo, in Rodello. This vineyard is located on top of a hilly area , 500 meters above sea level, facing southwest. The soil is calcareous marl with good permeability.
VINEYARDS
The Pinot Noir comes from the same area in Rodello; instead, the Nebbiolo grapes from Montelupo Albese come in a perfect southern exposure on hilly soil consisting of medium marl-calcareous soil; and the Barbera grapes come from Alba, at 350 meters above sea level. The training system is Guyot with 5,500 vines per hectare.
TECHNOLOGICAL LISTINGS
This blend is obtained from the vinification of Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo , Pinot Noir grapes. This vinification is carried out in the traditional way, in which the skins are immersed, at a controlled temperature of 30 °C (to obtain good color extraction and to preserve the tannins) for a period of 7 days. The wine then undergoes a period of 24 months in tonneaux and barrique.
CHARACTERISTICS
A ruby red color of medium intensity; in the nose perfumes of ripe fruit and pronounced sensations of black cherry and currant, perceptions of tobacco; warm on the palate, full of elegant vanilla, notes of tobacco, licorice wood and fruity undergrowth.
Food pairing
It goes with many foods, from starters like carpaccio to mushroom risotto; well suggested with meat, beef and pork.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18-20° C
The Piedmont winery Giribaldi started at the beginning of the 20th century and has been producing wines for three generations. In these days times were hard, and farming was not only a means of income but also a real pride for those who loved their land, it took blood sweat and tears to make a living and a price for it paid. Ultimately, Azienda Mario Giribaldi has grown into an excellent winery.
The wines of Mario Giribaldi are almost all grown organically, which in turn benefits people and nature, Giribaldi's top wine is his Barolo Ravera Organically made and from a special piece of vineyard with the highest quality.
